  • Daybreak Pictures go into production - 20th April 2008

    Daybreak Pictures are currently in production for their new film ENDGAME written by Paula Milne and directed by Pete Travis. The film stars William Hurt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Derek Jacobi, Timothy West and Jonny Lee Miller. The film is based on a series of secret meetings that took place in the UK between the ANC and an Afrikaaner delegation that led to the fall of the apartheid in South Africa. More
  • Britz wins BAFTA for Best Drama Serial - 21st April 2008

    Daybreak Pictures was last night awarded the BAFTA for best Drama Serial for the production of Britz for Channel 4. The two-part thriller, written and directed by Peter Kosminsky, was executive produced by Hal Vogel and David Aukin, and Steve Clark Hall was producer. The gripping story of a brother and sister, British-born and Muslim pulled in different directions by their conflicting personal experiences in post 9/11 Britain, was a co-production between Daybreak and Stonehenge Films. Daybreak Pictures’, David Aukin, said: “The competition this year was of the highest quality, and so the win is all the sweeter for being unexpected. We are so very proud and delighted to have won with this contemporary and bold drama.” More
  • Daybreak Pictures secures Kosminsky output deal - 16th November 2007

    Daybreak Pictures, has signed Peter Kosminsky in an output deal that will see all future films authored and or directed by Kosminsky produced by Daybreak Pictures. This consolidates the existing close production relationship between Kosminsky and Daybreak Pictures co-Executive Producers David Aukin and Hal Vogel. Kosminsky and Aukin previously collaborated on multi-BAFTA winning The Government Inspector, and most recently Channel 4’s critically acclaimed two-part drama Britz, a co-production between Daybreak and Stonehenge Films with Aukin and Vogel as co-Executive Producers. Among a number of projects Daybreak Pictures is already planning with Kosminsky either as director, writer or Executive Producer include Terrorists, about the struggle of the suffragettes, and a drama on the Litvinenko poisoning, both for Channel 4. The gripping story of a brother and sister, British-born and Muslim pulled in different directions by their conflicting personal experiences in post 9/11 Britain, was a co-production between Daybreak and Stonehenge Films.
